Abandoned and forgotten
Numbers dwindling
Everyone I know is gone
Starving to death
With infected wounds

Knocked to the ground and drug forward
They kick and laugh as I’m tortured
Jerked to my feet, tied to the stake
All my hope fades as I’m left to wait

Bullets tear through flesh
Shattering my bones
Total destruction
Machine gun execution

Bashed in the head, coughing up blood
They left me lying in the mud
They made me watch before my turn
The sickness made my stomach churn

Ready for death
Taking my last breath
Counting down to seal my fate
The fear I’ve come to embrace
